A Day in the City

Avery and Zachary on the train which Zac loves very much!
I love London. It's especially nice this time of year with all the lights lit up for Christmas! I enjoy seeing the sights..looking at all the old buildings and architecture. Today, it was cold and crisp but sunny. I think the high was only 38 or 39F. We just bundled up like all the locals and headed out! Since the kids at school are studying the Victorian Era, we thought it would be a good idea to take them to the Royal Albert Hall for a Victorian Experience. They loved it and so did the adults. It was very entertaining and informative. Our guides played their parts well and gave us the history of the Hall and told us what it would have been like at that time back in the 19th century. At the end of the tour, the kids dressed up in Victorian costumes representing the different levels of society who would attend events at the Hall. The kids had a great time. It was well worth it.

The Prince Albert Memorial
After we left the Royal Albert Hall, we went to the Museum of Natural History. It's enormous! Just like the one in New York. We just touched the surface. The building itself is beautiful. Next to the museum, an outdoor ice rink has been put in for the Christmas holidays. I would like to give ice skating a go at some point! Lastly, we walked to Harrods just to have a walk through. It's BIG. Will definitely be going back for a visit. It was fun to look at all the window displays. Amazing! It was a super fun day!
