We spent the first part of the day at Claremont Landscape Garden. It's a beautiful park that dates back to the 18 century. It was a regular holiday destination for the young Queen Victoria. The garden is renown for its 3 acre turf amphitheatre, rising above the lake, one of only two surviving examples of its kind in Europe. It features a grotto, island pavilion, bowling green , and Belvedere tower.
It also has a children's play area which Zachary loved! He enjoyed sliding down the slide with his big sister! It was a beautiful day to be outdoors. Sunny and upper 70's. We packed a picnic lunch and a soccer ball and enjoyed the afternoon. It looked like everyone else had the same idea.
Later, The Richards came over for Zachary's birthday. It was an instant party complete with balloons, cupcakes , and Thomas the Train. Zachary had a great time opening his gifts and playing with the bigger kids while the adults enjoyed some college football thanks to Apple TV!
