SCOOOOOOORRRRRRRREEEE

Well yesterday, Bruce got a little taste of the British winter. When he woke up, it was 22 degrees with about 1/4 inch of ice on his car windshield. While this is not terribly cold by British standards, it was stocking cap and glove weather for the Texas boy! He also went to a soccer (or as the British say "football") game yesterday with his new "mates." They went to see Chelesa play and they won 1 neel or as we say in the States 1-0 or 1 to nothing.
The stadium is in London with shops and restaurants surrounding the stadium. Every restaurant and pub was packed with Chelsea fans getting as Bruce says "oiled up on loud mouth soup!" Just before the game, 42,600 flee the pubs and dash down the streets into the stadium. And if you stop or slow peeps down, it is likely you will be called some pretty unpleasant names. Bruce found it funny that 2 signs hanging in the stadium were from Texas: The North Texas Fan Club and Texans Supporting Chelsea. While he didn't witness any soccer hooligan behavior, there was some serious tribal type chanting going on supporting the home team. All in all it was a great day at the old ball park, err pitch, with some new Chelsea mates.

Bruce also got invited to play golf with some guys who have a regular game. You golfers will know what this means; Bruce said he talked these guys into giving him 4 shots per side when they play. While Bruce thought that was funny, I'm not sure who suckered who! Oh well, Bruce says he can't play until the weather warms up anyway.  Until next time....Cheers!
