We have taken a car for hire (a rental in the states) while we decide what to do for a permanent car. We picked it up on Friday in a neighboring village and I followed Bruce home. Avery rode home with me on the condition she remain silent so I could focus on what I was doing. The car is much bigger than we wanted which is not good for the first drive in a foreign country with roads the size of a US sidewalk. Speaking of sidewalks, I think I drove on 2 or 3 on accident and at least 1 intentionally to avoid oncoming traffic. One lady "hooted" her horn at me but we did not trade paint with anyone or get stuck on a roundabout. I thought it went pretty well and my cheerleader in the back (Avery) kept saying "mom you are doing so good. I am proud of you".
I also got a phone yesterday and that was a real painful experience! Bruce said it would be easier to break into the US mint than get a mobile phone over here. To get a phone you have to have credit in the country. This takes several months so you are forced to pay as you go. You give them money every month and use the phone until the money/minutes are gone then you go to a "top up" machine to buy more minutes. So after negotiating, rather than giving away our first born, we left with a pay as you go phone only; no Internet, text, etc. This will have to be done on the iPad.
Tomorrow the real excitement begins as Avery starts school and Bruce leaves Tuesday for a business trip. Stay tuned!

I've sent an email to all of England to tell them to stay inside for the next few days! I bet you are scared silly driving that car! I would go nuts!
