Well, last week started with a throng of movers showing up at the house. Bruce arrived back home late Saturday evening and our preperations which began several months ago really ramped up on Sunday. We had boxes stacked all over the house waiting to be moved. Mom and Dad came over to help mange the process and supervise the movers (Bruce says supervision is his specialty, not so much the labor part). The one thing we had not started until last week were the closets, and boy that was not fun! When you go from having nice size closets to no closet at all, tough decisions have to be made. Although Bruce said is was pretty easy for him to go through my stuff and simply toss it all in a plastic bag for Goodwill. After taking who knows how much to Goodwill, we wound up with a total of 6 garmet boxes to be stored of which 5 were mine. Oh well maybe they will still be in style in 3 years.
After Tueday all of our personal belongings that are being stored locally were gone and the house felt pretty empty. We completly filled up a 10'x20' and 10'x10' storage units. In fact we realized we had forgotten to move 1 small box and Bruce said we would have to throw it out becasue we could not get another single box in the storage unit. Boy if somehting happens to us, the people from Storage Wars will have a field day "bidding on the content of our locker"! Wednesday, the shippers arrived to box, crate, and load on the shipping container our belongings for Europe. By Thursday the house was completly empty and ready for a good cleaning. Now the house is ready for move in by the family that is leasing it while we are in Europe. It is really kind of sad to leave our house and all of our really nice neighbors behind, but we are excited to start our journey together as a family in Europe.
Tomorrow we fly out. Avery is excited to fly 1st Class, recline her seat, get ice cream... This flying experience may be expensve as Avery said she will never go back to just flying coach! I will post some pictures of the new house next week once we get settled. Stay tuned for the adventure. Cheers!
